
I spent Christmas and New Years in the town of Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico. I witnessed many funny and surprising traditions, like dressing up as the ‘Baby New Year’ and banging a drum to collect money. It was definitely a fun and festive time.
Las Posadas are celebrations during the 9 days preceding Christmas. Singing, eating, and of course, pinatas are involved. I attended the Posada at the weekly organic market in Coatepec.
